Welcome to The Pit

People are confused, lost, and cry out for help!  They demand to know the truth and the truth must be told!  The Pit is a sanctuary of truth in economics during a post-apocalyptic time after man's destruction of knowledge.  The truth is not always what we want it to be and is far too often discarded in lieu of denial or deceit.  You people have taken economics and turned it into an issue of political ideology filled with propaganda and lies.  Now every dumb shit on the planet thinks they're an economist and has the right to spew their nonsense over the rest of us. Economics is not well understood and many are spreading their ignorance in the forms of either manipulation to further their own cause, such as with politicians, or as the standard bullshit spewing out of the mouths of newscasters, opinion columnists, and others.  Thus, The Pit is where the truth now lies and from it shall come salvation.  Thankfully economics is built upon a foundation of truths that are often common sense.  The Pit explains how economics works in a series of separate economic disciplines and then applies them to current events and issues of contention.  The truth is not always pretty, or even in our own best interest, but we can only react to the truth if we first know what it is.

Economics is the study of resource distribution.  Let's get that nice and crystal clear.  Economics is a fucking science which means not all views are equal, your opinion doesn't fucking matter, and things aren't always the way you think they should be.  There is only 1 correct answer - the one that is economically sound and statistically most probable.  Everything else is simply bad science.  That's not to say you aren't free to comment on any posts or discuss amongst yourself but don't expect me to respond because I really don't give a shit what you have to say.  Instead, just use the rest of the blog to brush up on your fundamentals that you obviously must have forgotten because I just know nobody would come here talking shit without having at least some minimal background in economics.

On that note, just who the hell do I think I am, anyway?
